Today, I’d like to talk a bit about the two most exciting things in my life right now: the new face of Moscow as a hub for startups and tech investment, and the changing face of entertainment media worldwide. NARR8 Now Allows You To Self-Publish Original Content!
NARR8 has just come out with a new “Editor” tool that allows users to upload their original content to the NARR8 channel. Simply put, “Editor” is a self-publishing platform that puts your work on the NARR8 channel. If you’re an aspiring writer or artist, this is an incredible tool for you. All you need is the completed artwork, the text, and music (if you like) in template form. Using “Editor” you can create your own novellas/comics that will then be available for free download to NARR8′s 700,000 users. I have yet to see the program in action, but it all seems pretty awesome to me if you’re interested in digital media storytelling. Narr8 opens up to indies and amateurs with Editor tool
VentureBeat reports that the web-based Editor will debut on Narr8’s website in mid May, with versions for iOS and Android to follow shortly. Users can create stories in layers, with the Editor including stock artwork, background music and sound effects for those who want them. There is an approval process for all comics created via Editor – excessive cursing and pornography are not allowed, for example – although this should take around 24 hours.

There is a great news for the independent comic book creators out there: NARR8 is set to release their editor, a tool that allows users to easily create digital comic pieces and distribute through their platform. “The editor is estimated to launch in late May 2013,” as stated in the press release on April 25th, 2013.

Narr8 Digital Storytelling App Updates With In-App Purchases and Auto Play

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of speaking with Darya Trushkina, the SVP of Business Development for NARR8. If you’re unfamiliar with NARR8, it’s an app aiming to become your entertainment hub. They provide original content and also target developers to use NARR8 as a distribution channel. Founded in 2011, NARR8 now has over 700,000 users. Moreover, the users are sticking around NARR8 is claiming to have over a 50% retention rate with the average user staying on the app between 12 and 15 minutes – even surprising Trushkina herself.
